Dextrose monohydrate is a crystalline form of glucose containing one molecule of water of crystallisation. It is commonly used in the food industry as a sweetener, filler and energy source.

Technical aspects

Dextrose Monohydrate is a white crystalline powder with a sweet taste, although slightly less intense than sucrose. It is a form of glucose that contains one molecule of water of crystallisation, which is about 9% of its composition. The product is readily soluble in water and has a pH ranging from 3.0 to 6.0. The bulk density ranges from 555 to 850 g/l. Dextrose monohydrate is stable and its form allows for a wide range of applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Storage

The storage period of Dextrose is 24 months. It should be stored in a dry, cool and well ventilated warehouse.
